As 18th/19th century poet Rainer Maria Rilke put it, “I live my life in widening circles…”
Recenter… Reflect – What have I learned? Do I feel centered? Is my compass working?
Rebirth… We find ourselves on the compass returning to the east. As I write this, it is April 21st, the day of Easter. In light of what was learned, have I shed old skin? Is something new growing? What are the implications?
Recalculate… Are there new risks to take, moments to make? Remember, it is a always a choice. A GPS will occasionally display the message “Recalculating.” This can be because the current route no longer works or perhaps you changed the destination.
RECHOICE… See this as upgrading your compass to the newest edition. Maybe this means you found an alternate route — the shortest or suggested route is not necessarily the best one. You can also choose to stay the course. Which route quickens your heartbeat a bit with excitement? TAKE JOY in what you choose knowing it’s not a final choice — you’ll learn more in the journey. Embrace it!
Reveal… When people ask, be willing to share your lessons. They may help you see something you haven’t seen yet. Help others reflect on their own journey. When we’re at our best, we can give our best to others.
“Do not ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman

“Life is not brief candle for me. It is a sort of a splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.” – George Bernard Shaw
